organized by the Higher Education Institute ISIS NEWTON of Varese

Monday, March 23, 2026, the Mentasti Auditorium at ISIS Newton will host a morning dedicated to the theme “Bullying and cyberbullying: educating for respect, also through sport.” Four classes from Liceo Classico Cairoli will also take part in the event, as protagonists of a conference organized together with the Centro Storico Italiano under the guidance of Prof. Adragna.
The event will offer students a space for discussion and awareness on behaviors, responsibilities, and relational dynamics, with a special focus on the positive role that sport can play in building a culture of respect.
The initiative is promoted by ISIS Newton in collaboration with Liceo Classico Cairoli, Amico Fragile, La Varese Nascosta, and Centro Storico Italiano.
Saturday, March 7 2026, in the afternoon, the “Mentasti” Main Hall at Newton will host the opening and conference of the exhibition “Collateral Victims.” The exhibition, made up of ten panels, will remain open to the public until April 1 and will be accompanied by guided tours on dates that will be announced later (cost: €5 per person).
The exhibition offers a critical look at the environmental consequences of conflicts and invites reflection on the link between wars, ecosystems, and global sustainability. A journey designed to stimulate awareness and responsibility, especially among young people.
The initiative is organized by ISIS Newton in collaboration with the University of Insubria, Insubria Wild Life, Centro Storico Italiano, and La Varese Nascosta.
Monday, March 16, 2026, on the occasion of World Eating Disorders Day which falls the previous day, the Mentasti Auditorium at ISIS Newton will host a morning dedicated to the theme “Nutrition, behavior, and social health.”
The main participants will be students from the biotechnology program, who will create a podcast and a discussion together with experts from Amico Fragile and the University of Insubria. It will be an opportunity to explore, with language close to young people, a complex topic that is increasingly central in public debate.
The initiative is promoted by ISIS Newton in collaboration with Amico Fragile, Uninsubria, La Varese Nascosta, Centro Storico Italiano, and Stefania Costanzo.

Monday, March 30, 2026, the Mentasti Auditorium at ISIS Newton will host a conference dedicated to Carlo Airoldi, the marathon runner from Varese who, in 1896, walked from Milan to Athens to take part in the first Olympic Games of the modern era.
His achievement will be recounted by Prof. Francesco Adragna, in the presence of four classes from the Cairoli Classical High School. The event will give students the chance to reflect on the value of sport, determination, and the Olympic dream, through the story of a man who challenged the limits of his time and conventions.
On April 10 or 11, 2026, pending confirmation from the Prefect and the Fire Department, the Mentasti Auditorium at ISIS Newton will host a conference dedicated to safety in inland waters, focusing on prevention, intervention, and awareness.
At the end of the meeting, in the school courtyard, there will be a practical demonstration of rescue techniques and prevention actions, led by professional underwater rescuers and the relevant authorities.
The initiative is promoted by ISIS Newton in collaboration with the Prefect of Varese, the Fire Department, the Centro Storico Italiano, and F.I.A.S. – Federazione Italiana Attività Subacquee.
